關島這裡的地標非常不清楚，這裡上次沒玩到，上次只花半天玩南島，所以這次特地安排一整天慢慢玩。

來到加恩岬約莫中午12:30，可能是午餐時間，只有我們和一對帶著小baby的夫妻。因為沒什麼人，蔚藍海岸，淨白沙灘上滿佈seashells，大帥和爸爸熱切的討論著戰爭的事，媽媽直說這裡都是軍魂，May則盡情的享受無人的海灘，玩玩貝殼摸摸沙。

加恩岬是太平洋戰爭國家歷史公園的一部分，這裡非常適合看夕陽。

在芒果樹下停好車，一大片青翠草地上，椰子樹影婆娑，有著用水泥鋪成的彎蜒的Y字型小道，引導我們走向兩個視野良好的小土丘，May直接走往左邊的土丘，上頭有著一座日軍高射炮，被濃密的椰子、樹叢、石頭給遮蔽住，得走到最上面才看得到，這正是第二次世界大戰太平洋戰爭時日本人為了保衛關島領土時，打美國人的鐵證。日本士兵這兩個偽裝的掩蔽壕，對企圖將關島收回為美國擁有的部隊造成嚴重的傷亡。

在爬上石灰岩土丘，整個海灣盡收眼底，在靠近岸邊的海裡面，還有一個小小四方型的無蓋水泥建築體，是整個海岸唯一一個非自然產物，被海水包圍著，卻一點也不突兀。中午時刻，坐在草地上樹蔭下吃著麵包，看著靜靜流動海水，是一的享受。

往右的掩蔽壕我沒有過去，聽大帥說，不同角度看海有不同的感受，但那邊感覺較陰，套句媽媽的話，就是軍魂較多啦!!

介紹美軍搶灘情形

加恩岬是Agat地區從海上登陸的中心海灘位置。在1944年7月時，這裡原本被濃密的椰子樹所覆蓋。在美國人佔領這個島之後，海軍整理了這塊土地，並設立了避難所，提供給來自本島東岸日本集中營的6000名查莫洛原住民。今日加恩岬的三面旗子是用來紀念那些曾經死在這裡的美國人、查莫洛人和日本人。

經由機關槍和迫擊炮的射擊，數以千計的美國海軍在1944年7月21日跟隨陸軍第77師團沿著海灘登陸。淺灘的暗礁相對上比較容易涉水而過，而Agat良好的地形也幫助日本人搶先登陸此地(關島戰役：第二次世界大戰太平洋戰爭早期的1941年12月8日珍珠港事變後第二天，日本全部攻上關島。)他們在加恩岬的槍炮中延遲了美國人好幾個小時的進攻。

保衛灘頭堡只是三周戰役(1944年7月21至8月8日)的開頭，從這裡你可以看見美國人內陸目標的其中兩個：Orote Peninsula and Mount Aliafanscenes of prolonged。

Interpretive exhibit 1 : 入口處

This point of land was at the center of Agat landing beach. In July 1944, dense groves of coconut palms covered the area. After Americans secured the island, the Navy cleared the field and set up shelters here for more than 6000 native Chamorros released from Japanese concentration camps on the east side of the island.

Today at Gaan Point three flags are flown to commemorate those who died for their country: Americans, Chamorros, and Jpapnese.

Interpretive exhibit 2 :左邊

Through machine gun and mortar fire and somke of burning amphtraks, thousands of U.S. Marines followed by the 77^th Army Infantry came ashore along this beach on July 21, 1944. The shallow reef was relatively easy to wade, but Agat’s favorable terrain also helped the Japanese anticipate the landing site. Their guns here at Ga’an Point disrupted the American advance for several hours.

Securing the beachhead was only the beginning of a threeweek campaign. From here you can see two of the Americans’s inland objectives – Orote Peninsula and Mount Aliafanscenes of prolonged, heavy fighting.
