The Executive Members of Chester City Council have agreed to commence with a major scheme of repair and refurbishment to the Town Hall. The programme will commence in May 2008 and is expected to be completed by late autumn 2009.
Due to the extent of the works the Town Hall will not be available for commercial hire.
It is unknown at this stage when the exact re opening date will be. However, we will continue to update this site as the works progress.

About the Town Hall
The grey and red sandstone, Gothic style Town Hall, with its tower and spire rising to a height of 160 feet was completed in 1869. It was opened on October 15th that year by the Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII.
The building still retains its Victorian magnificence and is a prestigious venue available for public hire. We always aim to offer complete flexibility to our customers and we are very proud of the quality of service we provide.
The central location of Chester Town Hall makes it a popular choice for a wide variety of conferences and seminars. To complement the surroundings, and with an emphasis on quality and service, the Town Hall staff are on hand to ensure that functions are organised in a friendly and professional manner. With flexible room layouts and an extensive range of equipment, we can cater for most of our customers' needs.
